sweets, comix, trading cards - everything a kid needs. i don't know how much money i spent on chewing gum and stickers in my youth.
is there anything in the world which is more satisfying then a little bag of paper filled with wine gum and liquorice?
the highway

we grew up only 8 meters away from one of the most frequented traffic routes of germany.
sometimes we sat in the window and we counted the different kind of cars: 236 mercedes, 567 vws...
the gloomy orange shine of the lanterns and the vibration of the trucks driving by were our friend in the nights.
the playground

bushes near the highway, dirtholes on the building site, floors, cellars and the streets. thats where all the fights between cowboys and indians, agent chases and war games took place.
the north
.............................................
expedition into the past, when heaven was dark and the air smelled of coke.
everytime we went to our cousins it was a bit like visiting another planet. the whole surrounding was marked with signs from the coal era - ruins of the industrial revolution. huge waste dumps, run-down buildings and hard working people.
the park

first kiss. a summer full of table-tennis, drving around on the bicycle, sitting on a bench and having fun.
i also spent some time on spraying some pictures onto walls - a few are still there.
the cinema

instead of going to the childrens church service i took the money which was meant as donation and spent it on some terrific movies: green hornet, batman, vampires from mars - all the good stuff a boy should have seen.
the graveyard

playing hide and seek behind the old tombstones. i am still fascinated by the atmosphere, something between silence, sadness and eternal beauty.
the ruhr

scene of countless walks through the forest on top of the hills near by the river.
the snack bar
.............................................
where you can get the best burger or the tastiest currywurst (a regional sausage speciality) in town.
