Muslim Mosque

It is hardly surprising that most Malays are Muslims. The Malays are a closely knitted community with the mosque as one focal point of their lives. Religion is very much a guiding force.

The Muslims in Singapore come under a separate Islamic Law at the Syariah Court. The Malays are a privileged race in Singapore. Under a protective clause of the law, the Malays, being the original inhabitants of Singapore are entitled to free education among other provisions.
